Since water in an espresso machine is under pressure, tamping helps to promote even penetration through the puck which results in richer and more flavorful espresso. This handheld tamper from Harold Imports is perfect for firmly packing the coffee grounds into the portafilter and creating a hard, even coffee pellet. This tamper features two flat tamping surfaces (50mm and 55mm) and stands 2 3/4-inch tall. To clean, hand wash with warm water and dry completely.
