The Makita XT296SMR 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Combo Kit delivers two premium brushless tools for drilling, driving, and fastening. Makita-built brushless motor optimizes battery energy use for up to 50 percent longer run time per charge.
Compact Kit
The Kit includes two fast-charging 18V LXT batteries (one 2.0Ah Battery (BL1820B) and one 4.0Ah Battery (BL1840B)), which are compatible with the full range of Makita tools and products. Both 18V LXT batteries provides up to 35 percent more run time per charge and feature an integrated L.E.D. battery charge level indicator. Batteries come with impact-resistant outer casings and shock-absorbing inner-liners that are engineered to protect the battery. The kit includes an 18V LXT Brushless 4-Speed Impact Driver (XDT14Z), that combines power and speed in a compact size. The XDT14 delivers 1,550 in.lbs. of maximum torque and weighs only 2.7 lbs. with a 2.0Ah battery, with a 3-speed power selection switch (0-1,100/0-2,100/0-3,600 RPM and 0-1,100/0-2,600/0-3,800 IPM). The 18V LXT Brushless Variable 2-Speed Hammer Driver-Drill (XPH16Z) combines power and run-time for more drilling, driving, and fastening tasks in wood, metal, and masonry. It delivers up to 1,800 RPM and a full 970 in.lbs. of maximum torque and weighs only 4.9 lbs. with battery. Both tools feature an efficient Makita-built brushless motor for longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life. Extreme Protection Technology (XPT) provides improved dust and water resistance for operation in harsh conditions. Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger.
T-Mode Impact Driver
Impact Driver features Tightening Mode (T-mode) for faster tightening of self-drilling screws. It helps prevent damage to the screw or work piece.
Quick-Shift Mode
Makita’s exclusive Quick-Shift Mode for increased fastening control. Quick-Shift Mode uses the brushless motor’s electronic controls to find the best balance of speed and torque for each application for more efficient fastening. Another precision setting is Tightening Mode (T-mode), which downshifts and reduces rotation and impact speed prior to driving the screw into place, and is engineered to minimize screw thread stripping, screw breakage, and damage to work.
Star Protection Computer Controls
For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls. Star Protection is a communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside.
